How we do it.
ASKA NSW Community Inc. is a membership-based fund. Members contribute an annual fee — $100 for a single member or $200 for a family — into a shared fund that is used to cover the costs of Islamic funeral services for members and their families when they are needed.
When a member of ASKA passes away, or a member of their registered family, the community steps in to arrange and cover the funeral in accordance with Islamic tradition — ghusl (ritual washing), kafan (shrouding), janazah prayer, and burial — so that grieving families are supported rather than burdened with these costs and arrangements at one of the hardest times of their lives.
Our committee manages the fund and oversees its use to ensure it goes towards the purpose members have contributed it for.
